New Capital is definitely a lot of fun, being one of the few places that still does the dim sum cart experience. It gets really busy here on weekends, but they also serve the greatest variety of things on the weekend. As others have noted, many of the staff here only speaks Chinese/Cantonese, so keep that in mind. It's not too hard to navigate (point to what you want!), but if you have questions, this might prove difficult. Probably wouldn't recommend this place to someone for their first-time dim sum experience for that reason, but eh. I'm a little sad that they don't seem to offer the crispy taro anymore. It's hard to make, I think, so it's been dropped by a lot of dim sum places...but still, for a big restaurant like this, I'd love to see it return.

this place is pretty damn good. on some weekdays you'll find minimal people sittin in and dining but don't let that deter you. this place can get quite busy during peak hours. came here for dinner to have their king crab special. ordered other dishes as well but really this was the main event. if you got the time and dough, grab some friends and invest in this succulent experience. the meat was fresh and perfectly cooked with that hint of seafood sweetness. probably the best king crab i've had around! ps girlfriend was recently upgraded to the fiancé model, and she definitely approves!

3.5-4 stars. This is located on the second floor of a decently, busy plaza. We went on a weekday morning right as they opened so it wasn't really busy inside and we were seated pretty immediately. It's a really big restaurant with plenty of tables. It is a classic dim sum restaurant with plenty of aunties pushing around carts of food that you can flag down and order from. The food that we got was pretty solid, but I guess you can't really go wrong with dim sum! One of the downsides is that they mainly speak Chinese or Cantonese so there may be a little bit of a language barrier, but it's fine if someone in your party can speak it because then they can just order for the entire table. There's plenty of parking in the parking lot.

New Capital is the place my family goes to for family gatherings - birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. Food quality is always consistent and the crowds are just the same. Parking has gotten increasingly harder now that there are other successful businesses in the plaza so carpool if you can! My family took advantage of their Alaskan King Crab special and it does not miss. At $20/lb, it's hard to beat that when you pay a higher price for a live one in the super markets. The honey walnut prawns are large and tasty. The pea sprouts are not over cooked and have a nice garlic flavor. It may be intimidating going to a restaurant full of Chinese people but some waiters do speak some English. We will continue to come here.

Always a wait today 45 mins! But the food was great! There must be at least 1000 or more that are served on Sundays! The glass windows look out to the beautiful sky!

3.5-4 stars New Capital Seafood Restaurant is located in Diamond Plaza, on the second floor, and this plaza had undergone many, many changes throughout the past couple of decades. I am surprised that I never wrote a review for New Capital, as my family and I used to frequent for dim sum often. Over the years, we have tapered off our visits but a dinner invite to a event the other week reminded me of how delicious food here is, especially since there are not many HK restaurants anymore. Some of the dishes did have ingredients swapped out for other "lower" ingredients (inflation ya'll) so it is not 100% HK food like we know. In the area, New Capital is still one of the places to go for sit down dim-sum. The parking in this place is still crazy busy, no matter what time of the day it is, so make sure to get there early to account for that. Since we have also remembered, the limited restrooms, for this size of a restaurant, is quite baffling. Our dinner event had about 10+ tables and the other half of the restaurant was still open for dinner service, so lines for the women's restroom (as always) was quite long, especially when there was a break in the dinner program.

I recently visited the new Capital Seafood Restaurant for dim sum, and it was a delightful experience! The restaurant uses traditional carts to display and serve their dim sum, which adds a nice nostalgic touch to the dining experience. We ordered a variety of dishes, including 燒賣 (siu mai), 蝦腸粉 (shrimp rice rolls), 牛雜 (beef tripe), 叉燒包 (BBQ pork buns), 鹹水角 (fried dumplings), 蘿蔔糕 (turnip cake), 蝦餃 (shrimp dumplings), 腐皮捲 (tofu skin rolls), 波蘿奶皇包 (pineapple custard buns), 排骨 (pork ribs), and 雞爪 (chicken feet). My personal favorites were the 腐皮捲 and 燒賣--they were perfectly cooked and flavorful. The service was also impressive. We were seated promptly, and the dim sum carts started coming our way right after we sat down, which made the meal enjoyable and efficient. Overall, it was a great dim sum experience with good food and service. I'll definitely be coming back!

I haven't been to New Capital Seafood Restaurant in a long time, so I decided to come here with my family--parents, brother, sister, nieces, and nephew--for a Friday lunch get-together. We couldn't make a reservation since they only accept them for dinner, but when we arrived at 1 pm, the restaurant wasn't very busy, and it was quite spacious. We were seated at a large table, and the service was impressively quick. We enjoyed some dim sum and ordered additional dishes from their menu. After placing our order, the food started arriving promptly, with two to three dishes at a time. The service was great, and the food was fresh, flavorful and delicious. What's more, the prices are still very reasonable. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with fast service and ample seating. I'll definitely be returning soon!
